The Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe offer a Christ-centered, academically challenging Catholic education. Our mission is to foster the unique gifts of each child and prepare students for leadership in school, Church and global community. If you have an interest in Catholic education, we encourage you to contact one of our schools, schedule a tour and witness our students firsthand.
Donna Illurbrun, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, answers: Why Catholic Education? What does a Catholic education provide? Why faith-based? How is it funded? How do children score compared to other options? How do we make this more equitable to all children? How can we work together to provide a quality education to all children in New Mexico?
Superintendent Illerbrun has been in the education field for many years. She has lived and taught throughout the United States, as well as in Europe. She loves children, teaching, and learning. She has seen how education plays a vital role in the development of children. She has also seen the best and the worst in educational settings. Donna is a firm believer in Catholic education and knows teaching through our faith plays an essential role in developing purpose and meaning in one’s life. Her discussion will emphasize how giving a child purpose and hope for the future provides the drive to learn and to apply those lessons to their life. Donna is an advocate for equitable education. She believes parents should be able to choose where and how their children are educated. It should not be determined by their zip code.
